The Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement services to the people of Marion County through Patrol Operations, Criminal Investigations, Corrections Division, Warrant Division, Civil Paper Division, Special Operations Division and the Marion County Drug Enforcement Division.

One of the duties of Sheriff's in Alabama is to act as an officer of the courts. This office is responsible for service of court papers and documents. The Sheriff's Office also maintains the Marion County Jail; where inmates are housed and maintained.
