Police Memorial Service

Date: 05/06/2015

I would like to invite everyone to come out to the Marion County Courthouse on Monday, May 11, at 7:30 pm to join the Fraternal Order of Police as we honor fallen officers from Marion County with a special candlelight vigil.  We haven't had any recent fatalities, but we have had officer fatalities, in the past, and these officers deserve special recognition and tribute.

The following officers will be recognized at the candlelight vigil ceremony:

  • Sheriff Jim Walker Ford
  • Marshall William A Hendon
  • Chief James Burton Burnett
  • Officer James W Langston
  • Chief Langston Wysner
  • Officer Conley Taylor
  • Chief Dalton Garner
  • Patrolman Vado Kivette
  • Trooper Bobby S Gann
  • Officer Johnny Michael Spann
  • Game Warden Jimmy Hutto
  • Corporal James Eddie Crump
A solid police badge with a rose on top.

I invite everyone to join the local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police and myself in honoring these fallen officers, and their family members, as we extend our gratitude for their service to our County and the Law Enforcement community.

Along with myself, the speakers for the vigil will include Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 32 President Daniel Gonzalez, First Baptist Church of Guin Pastor Kenny Hatcher, Marion County Circuit Judge John Bentley, and Marion County District Attorney Jack Bostick.

Special guest will include Cub Scout Pack 56, who will lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Joe Vasquez or myself at the Marion County Sheriff's Department (205-921-7433) or Daniel Gonzalez at the Hamilton Work Release Center (205-921-9308).

 Thanks for your attendance,

 Sheriff Kevin Williams
